8 magickal uses of labradorite

Labradorite is often referred to as the ’empath’s stone’ as it can help to filter emotions and many empaths like me find that it aids them in this.

Labradorite and the Aura

Part of the reason why labradorite aids in filtering emotional energy is that it is an aura-balancing stone and has protective properties. If you are particularly sensitive to emotional (or psychic) energy, keep a piece of labradorite around and program it to filter out only that which you want to receive.

Labradorite and Chakras

This is an excellent crystal to work with the higher chakras (throat, third eye, and crown). It can help to develop and use psychic abilities and can be used while meditating or doing chakra opening exercises if you are trying to enhance or clarify any clairs (clairvoyance, clairsentience, etc) you possess.

Labradorite and Empaths

Labradorite is also known as the ’empath’s stone’ by some, because it has a number of properties that aid empaths in protection, filtering, and strengthening emotional reading. Often carried near or on the body or worn as jewelry, it can protect one’s aura from emotional or energetic turbulence or imbalances coming your way.

Labradorite and Grounding

I’ve written briefly before about the importance of centering and grounding, and it just can’t be overstated that every witch, energy worker, or person meditating/traveling the astral should master centering and grounding before attempting deeper states of consciousness or spiritual communication. Grounding acts as a connection to the physical for our spirit and astral body, and can help to protect us (or help us protect ourselves) from low or negative energetic states or entities. Labradorite can be used for grounding before any of those activities.

Labradorite and Personal Power

This crystal also helps us find and step into our personal power by encouraging or inspiring us to trust our own abilities and power. This is a critical component of any energy or magickal working. If you need a little boost of self-confidence, consider bringing some labradorite into your life!

Labradorite and Inspiration

If you’re feeling stuck or uninspired, labradorite is also an excellent crystal with which to work to open up new ideas, new avenues, new ways of thinking, and find new paths you hadn’t seen before. Consider keeping a piece on your desk or wearing labradorite jewelry when journaling, writing, being creative, or other activities you want to stimulate creativity.

Labradorite and Dreams

You can use labradorite to enhance or strengthen psychic dreams or connect with higher consciousness while dreaming. Place it next to your bed or even under your pillow to stimulate the third eye and crown chakras.

Labradorite and Negative Energy or Thoughts

Similar to its ability to bolster your self trust or personal power, labradorite is a powerful crystal for blocking negative energy or even negative thoughts. Its a great stone for keeping a positive attitude, keeping your personal energy field clear and positive, and finding strong light energy wherever you bring it.

how to open your crown chakra

The crown chakra is your 7th chakra and is located just above your head (about an inch). It is associated with the color white, but can also be associated with the rainbow spectrum (as white is made up of all the other color wavelengths).

The crown chakra is your connection to the universal or collective consciousness and when it is open and working correctly, it functions as a direct line to information downloads, particularly our psychic senses.

When it is blocked, you may feel as if your higher consciousness is blocked, you may experience endocrine imbalances (imbalances in your hormones), and you may also experience low mood or trouble feeling energetically connected. You may also feel pessimistic or cynical, or spending too much time in your own head and obsessing over the past.

When it is open, you are more easily able to perceive universal source, information, enlightenment, higher self, higher levels of consciousness, set aside ego, and be present in each moment. You can also experience spiritual growth more effectively.

Here are some tips for promoting an open and balanced crown chakra:

  1. Reduce your material possessions. You can do this by cleaning out and getting rid of excess stuff around your home, closet, and storage that you do not need or use. Donate things to charities for those who need goods. Keep your space and life tidy and uncluttered. Detach from the sense of needing to have material possessions as status or symbols.
  2. Visualize connecting to celestial energy through your crown chakra. Picture it glowing white or violet and radiating branches, rays, or other extension upwards. Visualize it connecting with the universal energy and sending/receiving love and peace. The more you work on this visualization, the stronger this connection will be.
  3. Essential oils like frankincense and sandalwood can be applied to the top of the head to stimulate the crown chakra before or during meditation or visualization practices.
  4. Crystals like clear quartz, amethyst, kyanite, or moonstone can be used to meditate with. A tip I learned from someone working in energy healing is to place a crystal on top of your head (where your crown chakra is) and to hold a pendulum over the the crystal and chakra. The pendulum will begin to cleanse the blockage from the chakra. You may need to repeat this several times to fully clear a stagnant or blocked chakra. This also works for other blocked chakras, by the way.

Once you begin to feel the crown chakra is open or less blocked, regular meditation and visualization can keep it balanced. Cleansing your chakras on a regular basis is usually a good practice, especially if you are sensitive to energies, do energy work of any kind, or engage in regular spiritual practice.

magickal properties of serpentine

Serpentine is a dark or olive green (but can also be various shades of brown) mineral with black veins that make it look like snake skin, or reptile skin or scales. Some specimens of serpentine are mistaken for jade, as it can look similar, particularly if it does not contain much or any black.

If you’re interested in using serpentine in your magickal or spiritual practice, here are some ways you can work with it:

Correspondences of Serpentine

This stone is associated mainly with the element earth, but could also be air. Due to its deep beautiful green, however, it is more closely associated with earth. It is also referred to as ‘new jade’.

For that reason, it is an excellent stone for grounding before, during, or after meditation or energy work.

This mineral is also associated with Kundalini energy and can be used during meditative exercises to awaken or work on opening and balancing the chakras, as well as leaving you open to spiritual downloads from higher self or the collective.

Here are some other associations of serpentine:

  • meditation
  • spiritual insight
  • chakra clearing
  • crown chakra opening
  • memory of past lives
  • opening to understanding of faerie realm
  • physical healing
  • adjusting/accepting change
  • healing emotional trauma
  • prosperity and finances
  • a stone for healers
  • to assist environmentalists
  • longevity
  • aura insulation against harmful energy
  • healing the heart, including heart chakra

how to make your own wand

If you choose to use a wand as a magickal tool in your practice (and its optional, so if it doesn’t resonate with you, then don’t feel compelled to do so), its perhaps one of the easiest tools to make yourself.

Wands act as an extension of the energy of the bearer, much like the ceremonial athame can. Wands can be used to direct and channel the energy you have raised.

What you will need:

  • a length of wood from a tree or bush, usually between 8-12″ (20-30 cm)
  • a knife for making cuts and optional carvings
  • a length of twine, but you can sub this for literally anything else you like better, such as ribbon, metal wire, leather cord, or natural vines, etc
  • glue (this is kind of optional; theoretically you can make the wand without the glue, but the glue just makes it more efficient)
  • other optional items you may want:
    • a crystal for the point
    • a crystal or large bead for the handle
    • other embellishments such as paint, glitter, stickers, charms, etc

What you will do:

  1. Please make sure you have permission from whoever owns the land the tree is on to take a branch if it is on a tree that is not on your property. If you are an animist like me, I would also ask permission from the tree and explain what the branch will be used for, and that I will honor the tree in its sacrifice to me.
  2. Decide how long you want the wand to be and whether you will add any crystals or other embellishments that will alter its length. Make any necessary cuts to the wood to bring it to the appropriate size.
  3. If you are adding a crystal to the top, using your knife, make an ‘X’ shaped cut about 1 inch deep on the tip that splits it into 4 ‘prongs’ when they are pried apart. Place the crystal in the prongs to ensure it at least partly fits into this spot. Some of the crystal will obviously hang out from the tip. If it is a larger crystal, you may need either a longer piece of branch, or you may need to make the X cut deeper into the branch.
  4. If you are happy with where the crystal sits, take out and set it aside for now.
  5. Sand the branch with 60 or 80 grain sandpaper to remove bark, if you want to remove the bark. Then sand it two more times, once with 120 grain and then once more lightly with 240 grain.
  6. I find it is helpful at this point to soak the wand in water for a few hours to a day, depending on how pliable you want it. When the wood is softer, its easier to bend it around the base of the crystal and shape it a little.
  7. Once the wood has dried out a bit, put some glue in the setting you cut for the crystal and place the crystal back in it. Let the glue dry completely before doing anything else. If the wood was very wet still when you added the glue, you may need to bind the prongs and base of the crystal with decorative twine or ribbon now, in order to hold it together and ensure it dries in the right shape.
  8. At this point, you can begin deciding how you want to adorn the wand. I would recommend wrapping a decorative twine, ribbon, or otherwise around the tip where the crystal and prong cut-outs are if you didn’t already when you glued it.
  9. You can also choose to paint the wood or add glitter. I would then recommend using something like Mod Podge or a craft clear coat spray (a few coats of either) to seal any of that, as you don’t want it to rub off all over you every time you handle it.
  10. You can also just leave the wood bare and/or seal it with something like a polyurethane clear coat or stain it.
  11. As for the handle, some people like to leave it bare, others like to wrap some decorative ribbon, twine, or metal wire around it, adding charms or beads. Go with your gut and intuitive thoughts on this.

That’s it. Consecrate your wand before using.

6 magickal properties of amethyst crystal

Amethyst is probably one of the most common crystals that people buy when they are first exploring things like crystal healing or magick. Its a great basic and well-rounded crystal for a handful of reasons.

Amethyst for third eye opening

One of the most well-known uses of amethyst is its connection to the third eye and psychic abilities. If this is an area you are currently working on developing skill in, using amethyst crystals during meditation or divination can help you tune in and be more open to messages.

Amethyst for dream enhancement

Because if its strong connection to psychic abilities and the spirit world, it also works as an excellent antennae to receive prophetic or psychic dreams, or even to help you develop lucid dreaming skills.

Try meditating with it just before bed, stating firm intentions such as ‘I will have psychic dreams tonight,’ ‘My spirit guides will send me important information while I sleep,’ or ‘I will have lucid dreams tonight.’

You can also place a small piece of amethyst under your pillow or on a bedside table to bring on dreaming.

Amethyst for calming

In addition to working on the third eye, amethyst also helps to soothe nerves and keep you calm when you’re nervous or feeling stressed out.

You can keep some amethyst on your desk at work to help you deal with typical workplace energies, or carry it with you when you travel to dispel nerves about your trip, as it is also said to protect travelers.

Amethyst for transforming

Not transforming yourself, but more like transforming an emotion or feeling that is unpleasant or negative into something positive or higher vibe.

Hold an amethyst palm stone or orb and visualize the emotion you want to transform and then what it is transforming into. All emotion is energy and all energy is constant. It cannot be destroyed, but it can be transformed (or transmuted) to another form.

Amethyst for intuition

To add to the effects it has on the third eye, amethyst also supports our own innate intuitive abilities, helping us better tune into that inner voice and its messages.

If you tend to struggle with opening up intuition, or even hearing/feeling it, trying holding an amethyst crystal and repeating an affirmation such as ‘I am intuitive and receive helpful information from my higher self.’

Amethyst for protection

This deep purple stone is also known for spiritual and psychic protection, particularly from curses, hexes, and the evil eye.

Should you find yourself the target of another magickal practitioner’s ire (because, while we all want to believe that the witchy community is one big welcoming family, there are those among us who can be petty about perceived slights, or even very real threats or insults from others), wearing amethyst jewelry that’s been charged with your intention or hanging protection wards around your home or vehicle that include amethyst can help to dispel those negative energies and repel them.

magickal properties of red jasper

I recently acquired a couple nice polished red jasper pieces, because who doesn’t need more crystals? I thought it would be a good topic to put together some quick facts about this powerful mineral for those who don’t know all the great ways you can use red jasper in your magickal work.

Element: Earth

Chakra: Root, sacral, solar plexus

Planet: Mars

Properties and Associations

Because red jasper is associated with the element earth, it is excellent as a grounding stone. Carry it with you or keep a piece nearby if you need a little help staying grounded.

Because it is associated with the lower three chakras, red jasper is also a good stone for feeling secure and stable. If you feel a bit turbulent or unsettled in life, consider meditating with red jasper.

Red jasper can also help to clean and balance the aura.

The color red is associated with creativity, and many people use red jasper for creative inspiration, or finding creative solutions to problems.

Red jasper is also associated with strength and courage, and can provide those attributes to those who use it during both spiritual work and mundane life.

For that reason, it can also help you to feel more bold, especially if you have an upcoming project or job that requires you to be in the spotlight or to stand up for yourself, such as setting boundaries.

You can also think of red jasper as a creative road-opener, as it helps you to remove creative blocks while simultaneously providing inspiration.

It is also considered a stimulating stone, as it can be used to stimulate the chakras by clearing and balancing the root chakra first. In addition, it is considered stimulating in that it can help to awaken kundalini energy.

how to balance your natal chart elements

I mentioned in my book review post of Spiritual Protection by Sophie Reicher some things I had intuitively been doing to offset a really strong lack of earth element in my natal chart.

I figured this is something that might not be intuitive to everyone, and I had promised to follow up with a post that gave some tips for balancing your elements, should you happen to have one or more that are lacking.

First, if you don’t know how your elements are distributed in your chart, get a free natal chart done here.

Once you have entered your information and generated your chart, look in the tables below the chart itself, for a super handy visual that breaks it down for you. It will look like this:

Now, look at the left hand column “F, A, E, W” which represent, you guessed it, the element signs: Fire signs, Air signs, Earth signs, and Water signs.

Do you have any of those rows empty or very few compared to the others? My example above is a perfect illustration of what you might see with just one element lacking, Earth in my case. Notice how there’s lots of Water, and Fire and Air are pretty moderate, but one lone little Chiron in Taurus to represent Earth.

As I have expanded my spiritual and magickal path through life, the deeper I go into this, the more it becomes evident to me that this imbalance affects me in various ways. One thing I started doing that I now look back on is I have been grabbing certain crystals or stones to carry with me in my pocket or purse, or just on my desk and from time to time I touch them, or hold them while briefly meditating.

This helps to pull me back to ‘Earth’ so to speak and keep me better grounded, since the characteristics of this element do not always come naturally to me.

Balancing Your Natal Chart Elements

So, here’s where we start working on ways to add back in those elements which we lack.

Fire

The lack of Fire element in your chart can show up as lack of assertiveness and perhaps struggling to find and express your creativity and passions. It might also present as lack of initiative or drive.

Here are some ways to add more Fire to your day to balance you out:

  • burn candles often, especially near you; they can be scented or unscented and they don’t have to have any special magickal significance other than they represent fire
  • drink herbal tea made with these herbs: calendula, dandelion, basil, angelica, hawthorn, nettle, rue, rosemary, any other red or orange blossomed plants (please consult a trained herbalist before consuming any plants you are unfamiliar with)
  • carry or wear jewelry made with these stones or crystals: carnelian, dragon stone, citrine, red jasper, red agate/fire agate, red aventurine, yellow aventurine, tiger’s eyes, garnet, yellow and orange calcite, yellow or bumblebee jasper, yellow or orange quartz, yellow sapphire, sunstone
  • wear brightly colored red, orange, or yellow clothes, shoes, or other accessories to bring some fire to your wardrobe
  • if you can’t burn an actual candle at work or home for some reason, get some of the electric tea lights or even a strand of fairy lights to string up and add some sparkle to an area you spend a good deal of time in
  • cook with more spices, especially the fiery peppers higher in capsaicin, an ingredient that creates the ‘heat’ you taste in spicy food; these include paprika, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne, but also red/green chiles, tobasco, bell peppers, and then all the spicier peppers from jalapeños to Carolina reapers. (please use caution and common sense when consuming spicy foods; if you are not used to a lot of spice, introduce these slowly and in small amounts based on your personal tolerance; capsaicin in larger amounts than you’re used to creates irritation in mucous membranes)
  • take acting classes or join an improv group; you can also resolve to stand up for yourself, set strong boundaries, and speak out more often
  • experiment with various creative hobbies; if you don’t know where to start, wander around an art or craft/hobby store and see what grabs your attention

Air

Air is the element of the intellect, thought, words, and communication. If you lack Air in your chart, you may be more prone to close-minded thinking patterns, might find it hard to express yourself through written communication, or may find it difficult to learn languages, even including those which are native to you.

Adding more Air element to your day might look like some of these:

  • burning incense, if you can do this where you live or work
  • turn a small fan on near where you spend more time, especially if you can have it gently waft essential oils associated with Air element like: peppermint, lemongrass, and lavender
  • dab a bit of those essential oils on your temples, neck, or wrists (dilute them if needed before applying to your skin)
  • carry or wear jewelry that contains any of these crystals: sapphire, smoky quartz, tourmaline, topaz, rhodonite, lapis lazuli, amethyst, peridot
  • practice deep, rhythmic breathing exercises
  • drink herbal tea made with any of these herbs: lavender, peppermint, elder flower, thyme, wormwood, mugwort, comfrey (please consult a trained herbalist before consuming any plants you are unfamiliar with)
  • write in a journal or even just a private blog daily to improve your written communication
  • join a writers group, especially one that helps with writing prompts to allow you to develop this skill further
  • take an online course; you can find many free ones here

Earth

A lack of Earth element in your chart might leave you feeling flaky, unstable, or trouble holding onto or managing money smartly. You may also be prone to jumping from one new idea to the next without seeing them through (for me this manifests as starting many things and finishing few).

You can add more Earth element to your day with any of these following ideas:

  • walk barefoot outside (if safe to do so) for at least a few minutes a couple times a day; this helps you absorb the negative ions from the Earth, which send happy balancing waves throughout your body
  • center and ground often throughout the day (hint: the book I mentioned at the beginning of this post, Spiritual Protection by Sophie Reicher, has an excellent simple technique for this that I really like, and it doesn’t take a lot of time to do)
  • keep rocks nearby you, or crystals such as: agate, jade, tourmaline, nephrite, turquoise, quartz, onyx, malachite, jasper
  • wear earthy colors such as greens, browns, tans, and neutral or natural dyes/undyed textiles
  • get help with financial planning or sign up for apps that help you track your spending and create a budget
  • dab a drop or two of these essential oils on: patchouli, vetiver, cedar, or pine (dilute them if needed before applying to your skin)
  • drink herbal tea made with any of these herbs: pennyroyal, black cohosh, slippery elm, sage, horehound (please consult a trained herbalist before consuming any plants you are unfamiliar with; some of the ones mentioned here should never be used during pregnancy)
  • either eat more salt (work with a qualified healthcare practitioner to determine your safe daily intake levels of salt) or keep a bowl of salt at your desk or nearby where you spend a good deal of time
  • keep a salt lamp near you while you work or sleep

Water

Water feels like home to me, obviously if you look at my chart, its my whole foundation. It is the element of emotions, empathy, and love.

But a lack of Water in your chart might manifest emotionally as lacking or having trouble experiencing empathy, being emotionally cold, closed-off, trouble accessing or interpreting yours or others’ emotions, and, some people will even say you could feel chronically physically thirsty because of this lack.

Here are some ways to add Water element to your day to help you even this out:

  • drink more fluids (this one seems obvious, but I meet so many people that just don’t do this)
  • take herbal or magickal baths weekly
  • do a daily ritual cleanse with a bowl or sink, washing your hands and/or face, adding essential oils if desired
  • essential oils associated with Water element include: jasmine, chamomile, spearmint, ylang ylang, sandalwood, and myrrh
  • keep a bowl of spring water on your desk or nightstand
  • these crystals have Water element properties: blue lace agate, amazonite, aquamarine, aventurine, blue chalcedony, chrysocolla, agatized coral, red coral, emerald, sea shells of all varieties, lepidolite, opal, prehnite, quartz, blue sapphire, tourmaline
  • drink tea often; using these herbs, which are associated with Water element, can further enhance this: burdock, valerian, echinacea, chamomile, and roses (please consult a trained herbalist before consuming any plants you are unfamiliar with)
  • play background noises with waterfalls or running water sounds while you work or meditate

magickal properties of jade

Jade comes in a fairly broad variety of colors. It is most well-known for its green hues, but it can also be virtually every other color of the spectrum.

Another crystal, nephrite, has similar green hues, similar hardness, but is a different type of mineral. It typically can only be found in white, olive greens, browns, and black.

Jade can be found in many ancient religions and cultures across the globe. It was especially prized for making tools and weapons, because of how hard it is, which makes it resistant to chipping or wear.

Properties

Magickal properties attributed to (green) jade include:

  • dreaming and psychic dreams
  • accessing the spiritual world, especially during dreams
  • wealth and prosperity
  • longevity (living a long, healthy life)
  • courage
  • good luck
  • used to treat and cure kidney ailments
  • calm and soothing
  • soothes frazzled nerves
  • promotes tranquility

Other Jade Colors

In addition to the properties listed above, other colors of jade have further, more specific magickal or metaphysical qualities:

  • red jade is an action stone and promotes bravery
  • orange jade is stimulating, but less so than red, and brings joy and celebration
  • yellow jade is cheer and joy
  • blue jade has many of the same qualities as green jade as far as promoting calm and psychic dreams
  • purple jade helps to keep your aura clean and clear
  • black jade is protective

Other properties

Jade is a rational crystal. It helps us make informed decisions and promotes clarity of thought, as well as reasoning through a problem, rather than rash decision-making.

It is also said to be a very strong cleansing crystal for the body, promoting improved detoxification and clearance of waste and free radicals, hence its connection to the kidneys, where the majority of toxic byproducts are excreted.

Jade is often used in crystal facial rollers for its powers of youthfulness and health.

Because of its connection to the spiritual world during dreams, it is considered a crystal for spiritual growth and self-realization.

Being green, obviously, it has really powerful connections to the heart chakra, and can aid in healing blockages of that chakra, which often leave us overly critical of others and wanting to control other people around us.

It can also be used as a protective crystal from negative energy and harmful entities during magickal practices.

a quick guide to protection magick

This post is, as the name implies, all about protection. there could be many reasons right now why you may feel that you, a loved one, or just some people in general, need protection.

Protection spells for the home, your vehicle, your physical person, or a group of people are some of the most trending things online in the magickal community at the moment, and for good reason.

First, there’s social unrest. there’s no better way to say it. people are (rightfully) upset about police violence against people of color, and they’re marching, protesting, and voicing their concerns as Americans with rights guaranteed by our constitution.

So, perhaps you yourself are protesting, perhaps a friend or family member is, or perhaps you want to make sure the protesters out there are protected. this is one scenario I’ve seen often.

Another reason is the spiritual awakening and stirring up of the other side of the veil through more contact from the human realm, more energy poured into requests and spell workings, and even just because right now, a number of astrological events are going on that are making it easier for entities, both benevolent and potentially malevolent, to contact and interact with our world.

This might leave you feeling vulnerable to some of those energies, especially if they are unwanted. Even if they are wanted or at least neutral, this can still leave you drained and in need of some basic barriers.

So, let’s get down to the basics of protecting yourself, your property, and other people.

Personally, I usually like to build or design my own spells and rituals, as the more personal you make something, the more energetically invested you are, and the more likely it will be to be successful.

If you prefer to just read some words that someone else wrote and light a candle, that’s okay, but if they’re not your words and don’t resonate strongly with you, or are difficult for you to envision, they may not yield the results you want.

What I’ve put together here is a quick reference to tools such as deities, colors, crystals, plants/herbs, and other items that are commonly used in protection magick, so that you can pick and choose what you think will suit your needs best for your particular request.

Deities Associated With Protection

Regardless of which path you follow, its likely you’ll encounter a variety of deities, beings, or spirits that are or can be petitioned to provide protection for a variety of people and/or objects. Colors Associated With Protection

The most commonly used color in protection spells, such as for candles, is black. Black has long been associated with protection spells and magick. White can also be used in protection magic, but is more commonly used for cleansing (negativity, harm, pain, etc).

Orange can be used to encourage power, both emotional and physical.

Grey can be used to bind negative people or influence.

Color associations can also be specific to the deity with whom you are working, or could be for offerings, as well.

Crystals Associated With Protection

  • obsidian
  • smoky quartz
  • clear quartz
  • amethyst
  • black tourmaline
  • fluorite
  • jet
  • kyanite (blue)

Plants and Herbs Associated With Protection

  • angelica
  • anise
  • basil
  • bay leaves
  • carnation
  • cedar
  • chamomile
  • cloves
  • comfrey
  • coriander
  • dragon’s blood
  • fennel
  • ferns
  • garlic
  • hyssop
  • lavender
  • lilac
  • mandrake
  • mistletoe
  • mullein
  • myrrh
  • nettle
  • oak
  • parsley
  • pepper, black

  • sea salt
  • Florida water
  • thorns
  • frankincense resin
  • myrrh resin
  • moon water
  • crystal-infused water
  • vinegar
  • sigils
  • imagery/symbols

Now, all that being said, you still need to put things together in such a way that makes sense for what you are asking, in other words, your specific outcome.

This could be assembled as a jar spell, it could be simply a candle you light and talk with a deity or ancestor, or it could be any number of other rituals or spells where you apply your intention and will toward your intended outcome.

And, I will also add here that when working with a deity or specific entity or spirit, regardless of color associations, plant associations, etc of protection, its usually best to have other or additional candles or items specific to that deity as well. So, if you’re working with a deity that resonates best with blue candles, include both a black candle for protection as well as a blue candle for your deity, got it? Similar for any other correspondence element.

you can think of your higher self as the self that exists outside of just your conscious thought. its your spirit and its connection to the greater spiritual energetic consciousness that connects all things in the universe.

your higher self is that part of your spirit that has the ability to tap into the divine consciousness, psychic abilities, and higher magicks.

many people also associate this with your crown chakra, but also to the other chakras ‘above the head’ referred to as our soul star, spirit, universal, galactic, and divine/source chakras.

these chakras, starting with the soul star, are part of us, yet also located ‘outside’ of our physical body, if you can picture that. each one of them provides a higher level of spiritual connectedness and spiritual energy force to which we can tap into.

you may already be accessing these if you are doing a lot of work communicating with spirits and spirit guides, or psychically accessing the spirit.

before attempting to access these higher chakras, its important that your lower chakras are cleared of imbalance, psychic debris, unresolved feelings of anger, hurt, trauma (physical and emotional), and limiting self-thoughts and behaviors.

you cannot open and access higher chakras with lower chakras that are blocked or imbalanced, so it is important to work on those first, before building and raising your spiritual energy and vibrations to work with the higher chakras.

but lets say you feel like you’re there and ready for next steps. here are some crystals that are especially powerful for working with the higher chakras of your spiritual self:

blue apatite

blue apatite is said to have deep cleansing properties of the aura and the psychic body. its especially useful for developing or tapping into the psychic and paranormal realms.

amethyst

this is a really great all around crystal for opening the crown chakra, which you can kind of think of as the gateway to the higher chakras.

kyanite

this is a really high vibe crystal that works to activate and align all chakras starting with the third eye and up. typically white kyanite is the best option, but other colors such as indigo may also be very powerful for higher chakras.

clear quartz

you are probably saturated with reason why clear quartz is awesome, so here’s another one. clear quartz vibes really well with the soul star chakra, just about your crown chakra, as well as all of your other lower as well as higher ones.

selenite

another crystal with white light or high vibes which works excellent to activate and open the higher self chakras, selenite is also powerful with the crown chakra.

white topaz

this crystal is excellent at clearing energetic pathways throughout the body, to prepare for opening higher chakras.

labradorite

labradorite crystals work well with the third eye and crown chakras, and facilitate a connection between our physical and spiritual selves, but also our spiritual selves and the astral plane.

so, from all of the above, you’ve got quite a few options if you’re ready to take that next step into spiritual ascension. its important to know that some of these higher chakras can open gateways into the spiritual realm that may allow in entities you don’t want, so please always seek professional guidance when attempting to communicate with those higher levels of spirit and consciousness.
